Meditation and Health

Meditation practices have long been a part of the human experience. The earliest meditative techniques going back thousands of years were typically a part of a religious ceremony that connected meditating practitioners with the forces of the natural world.

Later practices transformed meditation into a spiritual exercise that elevated practitioners into a higher plane of conscious awareness.

In the past 40-plus years, scientific researchers have begun to study the cognitive, physiological and neurological changes that occur in meditation. (More)
