Tech review: The StressEraser Deepens Meditation

The full-page magazine ads say the StressEraser can calm the tensest user.

In reality, the little machine won't work any miracles. It won't even erase any stress. It will help you erase your own stress, though – if you put in some time and effort.

Operation is simple. Fire up the StressEraser. Insert your finger in the heart-rate monitor. Breathe deeply.

The machine, which beeps each time you should breathe out, charts the rise and fall of your pulse as you inhale and exhale.

Tall, regular waves indicate relaxation and earn a point. Sharp, haphazard waves indicate distraction and earn nothing.

Your goal: Score at least 100 points a day. (More)
